Although I would like to go and walk around more often, I have gotten some visitors. Simon and Setsuna stopped by for a bit, and I got to see Duo when he walked by. And I told them to tell others that they're welcome to stop by for either conversation or to hear me sing.
I have heard some of what has been going on. While I do my best to keep up with current events, it is hard to keep up with what is happening here on Earth from the PLANTs.
That's unsurprising really. Though from what I can tell, the pointless war with ZAFT is not what we need right now. There are far less petty wars going on at the moment.
Not that I am for the other wars... But they seem less pointless to me.
It's sad that mankind feels the need to fight each other. Especially for reasons such as wanting more power or superiority over others. We can only hope that those who are actually fighting realize what they are doing and stop blindly following someone else's wish for war.
I wish it were that simple... People have friends they want to protect and they will keep fighting so long as others fight. But if people like that are fighting each other, then the fighting never stops.
In a way, fighting to protect yourself is the best way to keep the fighting from ever stopping. At least with greed or superiority there is a possible objective that could conclude the fighting. But once both sides are fighting to protect themselves from the other...
That is why people need to communicate with each other. It is all well and good that they care enough about others to want to protect them. But if they only think about protecting, then they won't think about how to stop the fighting so they won't have to protect themselves or others.
Which is one of the reasons why I sing. By singing I can put the hopes and wishes of the people into words and hopefully have them take the first steps into talking things over.
I know that doing things that way isn't easy, but it is something I can try.
I have no doubt that Athrun will understand what needs to happen. You and he are very similar, and since you can see the right path then he can too. It's just taking him a little longer to find his own way there.
