Perhaps I should get out more, huh?
The piercings are doing well. A little over a month now, and no issues with infection or rejection of the jewelry, which is awesome about the latter, as I was expecting at least one to be rejected. Very glad that didn't happen. I figure, after all this time, if it hasn't happened, it probably won't. Contemplating more ear piercings. I need more holes in my head. :)
Went out with a friend of mine Friday night to hit the local gay bars (okay, that's probably not PC, but it's the truth, sorry to offend anyone) so that she could promote her recently published novel:
A Question of Innocents. Twist was definitely a nice place. The bartender was a scream, the place was nice, and got way crowded really quick once 9:30 rolled around. Terrie and I had an absolute ball, laughing at people, being hit on by some old guy sitting next to her and generally watching people all night. Definitely a good time and I hope we do it again soon. :) Sneakers was a different story. Not a great place, with that worse than the corner bar feel to it. Sitting on the barstools was almost dangerous to your general health and well-being. We stayed only long enough for her to talked to the owner about promoting her book and then for one drink before we called it a night. We talked for a while then off home I went. Fun times with a fun friend. Thanks for a night out, Terrie, I needed it, I think.
The rest of the weekend was basically uneventful, just hanging out with mom and Andrew and watching old, bad, Jackie Chan Kung Fu flicks. Next weekend, Bruce Lee. :) Gotta love the old Kung Fu movies. They have such the MST3K feel to them that you can't help but narrate yourself as the movie rolls by.
This weekend, Andrew's birthday dinner and, hopefully, at some point this week, getting together with
zorack for the maddening task of attempting to learn enough UNIX to deal with my server.
