I took the leap!
On October 1st, I will be in my own place and will not have to answer to anyone but me! My stylist friend and I put down a deposit on a new salon!
It's in a wonderful building and the landlord is fantastic! The price is right ($420 a month for me, the same for her) and includes all utilities. EVERYTHING! I already pay $300 a month and have to pay $2 for each pedicure I do. That can add up to as much as $40 a month alone. The owner informed me a week or so ago that the rent was going up to $400-$50 a month in October. If I'm going to pay that much, I'd rather be on my own and not have to deal with the crap that is happening every day.
There are some small upgrades that need to be done (floor covering, some sinks and a few other things) but they are all within our budget!
I'm so happy! I just quit hospice (which effectively means I have no 2nd job for a back up) so I HAVE to make this work!
And all of this has come none too soon. I just had a run in with the salon owner of the place I'm in now. That's the first time I've said anything but the problems have been mounting over the last few months.
Now, I can run things as i want to without interference.
WOOHOO! This is what I've been waiting for!
