Matthew knocked on Dominic's door, and in a couple seconds the door was open.
"Matthew!" Dominic exclaimed.
"Hey!" Matthew said, giving Dominic a hug.
"Well someone's happy today!" Dominic said with a smile. "Come on in!" Dominic said, leading Matthew into his apartment.
Matthew was shocked. Dominic's walls were covered in gorgeous paintings, and a couple band posters. "Did you paint these?" Matthew said, taking an interest in a painting of a gorgeous sunset.
"Yeah, I painted all of these. I painted this one of the sunset when I was in Hawaii." Dominic said, admiring his painting. Matthew pointed to another one of a campfire. "And this one?" Matthew asked. Dominic laughed.
"When I went camping at Yellowstone with my parents. This is one of the first ones I've done."
For a couple hours, Dominic and Matthew looked at the paintings, and talked about their interests.
Matthew found out that Dominic loves going to concerts, and loves traveling. Dominic found out that Matthew doesn't like anything. Matthew found out that Dominic can play guitar. Dominic found out that Matthew owns an acoustic but has never played it.
"Let me go get my guitar, maybe you can play me something." Matthew said with a smile as he skipped into his apartment. Dominic got worried.
He wasn't very comfortable with playing guitar to other people, especially to someone he just met, but Dominic relaxed. When Matthew came back with his guitar, Dominic picked his song.
Dominic held the guitar like it was a precious baby in his arms. He strummed a couple chords, and relaxed.
"I wrote this song. It's called 'Sing For Absolution'." He said. Dominic cleared his throat, and started the song.
"Lips are turning blue,
A kiss that can't renew,
I only dream of you,
My beautiful.
Tip toe to your room,
A starlight in the gloom,
I only dream of you,
And you never knew."
Matthew stared at Dominic in awe as he sang the song. His voice was gorgeous.
"Sing for absolution,
I will be singing,
And falling from your grace,
Ooooo."
Every time a word came out of Dominic's mouth, Matthew fell in love.
"There's nowhere left to hide,
In no one to confide,
The truth burns deep inside,
And will never die.
Lips are turning blue,
A kiss that can't renew,
I only dream of you,
My beautiful.
Sing for absolution,
I will be singing,
Falling from your grace.
Our wrongs remain unrectified,
And our souls,
Won't be exhumed."
As Dominic finished the song, Matthew started clapping. The song was beautiful, and Matthew knew it was.
"Dominic, that song is awesome! And your voice is gorgeous!" Matthew praised. Dominic blushed.
"Thank you Matthew, I've worked hard on that song." Dominic and Matthew sat there quiet for a second, when Matthew looked at the time. It was 4:30pm.
"Aw damn, I didn't get anything out for dinner." he said.
"Um, maybe you could eat dinner with me. I know this great Chinese place that's a couple blocks from here. I could run over there, bring back some food, and we could watch TV." Dominic said. Matthew smiled. "I would love that."
Dominic returned the smile and ran into his kitchen. After fumbling around for a minute, Dominic found the menu for the Chinese place.
"Now, I don't know what your Chinese preference is, but I really like their sweet and sour chicken. It's like, the perfect combination of sweetness and sourness. The flavor just explodes in your mouth." Dominic said, making an explosion motion with his hands.
Matthew laughed and took the menu. He looked over it, and decided on what he wanted.
"If you insist, I'll get the sweet and sour chicken, but I'd also like some egg rolls." Matthew said, handing the menu back to Dominic. "All right!" Dominic said.
"Chicken power!" He put his fist out to Matthew and he bumped it. "I'll be back in a half hour. Feel free to turn on the TV and watch some shows. I believe Doctor Who is on right now." Dominic said, grabbing his keys and wallet. And with that, Dominic left the apartment.
