Matthew jolted wide awake, the memory of that dreadful day replaying in his nightmares. Matthew got out of his bed and walked to the fridge in the other room.

He pulled out a flask of whiskey and chugged the whole thing down. He needed that pick me up. Matthew looked at the clock. It was only 7am on a Saturday morning.

A new day arrived, and Matthew was wanting to get it over with. He decided to take Dr Hudson's advice for once and take a walk around.

So Matthew put his shoes on and walked out of his apartment, only to bump into a frazzled blonde.

"Oh, I'm so sorry" the blonde said, trying to pick up all of his boxes that he was carrying that fell on the ground.

"It's alright." Matthew said, bending down to pick up the last box for the blonde.

"Thanks!" The blonde said, flashing Matthew a giant white smile.

Matthew felt his insides get warm when he saw that smile. Matthew looked away from the blonde for a second and pinched himself. The last time his insides were warm was years ago on that dreadful day at the jewelry store.

He looked back and the blonde was gone.

Matthew looked around and couldn't find him. All of a sudden, the blonde's head poked out from a doorway.

"Well don't just stand there, come on in!" the blonde said, ushering Matthew inside. He reluctantly walked into the apartment with the blonde he just met.

"I'm Dominic Howard, but everyone calls me Dom." He said, placing the boxes down on the floor.

"Matthew Bellamy, or Matt." Matthew replied, shaking Dominic's outstretched hand. Dominic smiled, and started unpacking the boxes. It was mostly plates and silverware.

"Why it's a pleasure to meet you Matthew. I hope you don't mind if I call you that. First names are way more beautiful than nicknames." Dominic said, putting the plates in drawers while he did so.

"Yeah, it's fine" Matthew said. "So, you just moved here?"

"Indeed I did!" Dominic exclaimed, plopping down on the couch. "Nice apartments. Some of the nicest I've seen in all of New York!"

"They are very nice" Matthew said, being taken aback by his energetic personality, which was so different from Matthew's.

"So I guess we're neighbors now!" Dominic said.

"Yeah, I guess we are" Matthew replied with a sigh. Dominic smiled.

"I'm glad that I have you as a neighbor Matthew." Dominic said, giving Matthew a hug. Matthew was frozen. No one gave him hugs anymore. He slightly pushed Dominic off of him.

"Listen, I have to go. I guess I'll see you around the halls." Matthew said, trying to rush out of Dominic's apartment.

"Ok, around the halls!" Dominic shouted at Matthew while he was walking away.

Monday came as quickly as Saturday ended. Matthew felt happy today for the first time in years.

He had no idea why this sudden burst in happiness came, for he was seeing Dr Hudson today. But he let the happiness happen.

Matthew walked into Dr Hudson's office with a smile on his face, which shocked her for a second.

"Hey Matt!" she said, happy to see Matthew smiling for once.

"Hi Dr Hudson" Matthew said, sitting on the couch, and swinging his legs back and forth.

"Why are you so happy today?"

"I don't know!" Matthew said with a large smile on his face. Dr Hudson laughed. "Well I'm glad that you're happy."

"Actually, I think I know why I'm happy" Matthew said, his cheeks turning red. Dr Hudson smirked. "Why is that?" she asked.

Matthew smiled. "I made a new friend on Saturday."

"You did?! Matt, that's fantastic!" Dr Hudson said, smiling from ear to ear. Matthew blushed.

"His name is Dominic. He moved into the apartment next to mine. He's really nice. He's also very energetic!" Matthew said, practically jumping up and down on the couch with excitement for his new friend. Dr Hudson laughed.

"Matt you are too funny!" she said, smiling. Matthew just smiled. They didn't say anything for a while, but both had millions they wanted to say.

Finally, Dr Hudson stood up. "Well, I think we're done for today. Enjoy the weather! It's not blazing hot for once." Dr Hudson said. Matthew jumped up and hugged Dr Hudson.

"I'm gonna go see Dominic now!" Matthew said as he ran out of her office, and headed to his apartment building.
