.) LOVE! Hank is just... pretty much perfect. He's brilliant and hilarious, a social butterfly and athletic brawler but still a scientific genius, a jack-of-all-trades, a poet and a scholar and fantastic with children. His angst about his transformations only makes him more appealing.

.) Hank is not nearly as important as I'd like. He's usually a solid supporting character, which is fine, except when he's basically in limbo -- if he's not going to be an X-Man right now, I wish he would be used better in Secret Avengers! And I wish SWORD hadn't been cancelled.

.) I relate to Hank a lot, or at least I did while I was RPing him, both in personal ways I won't get into and in more superficial ways as a natural good-natured sidekick type/person who defines herself by her intelligence. Hank is WAY more social than I am, though, and way more fun. I'd love to be more like him. But either way, I find him incredibly compelling.

.) See above about my feelings on X-Men/Marvel canon/fandom. :)

.) Hank is one of the few characters I've written who I see as pretty much entirely straight, though I can see the potential for Hank/Bobby and Hank/Wonder Man (which is canon in an Exiles AU). I ship him with Abigail Brand right now a lot, and I also kind of ship him with Jean Grey. (Only Chris Claremont agrees with me.) My crack ship is Hank/Irene Merryweather, and I am intrigued by Hank/Emma, because I think he brings out the best in her. Basically the only love interest I don't ship him with his awful Trish Tilby. For platonic relationships, I love him with Bobby and Wonder Man, and also with Scott and with all the original X-Men as a whole.

.) I would get rid of the fake coming-out story from Morrison's run, which was embarrassing, offensive, and totally OOC. (I would NOT change the cat thing, though. I like it, even if no one else does.)

.) Hank can be friends with ANYONE. I like to think we'd get along and could talk about stuff ranging from trashy TV to the high canon of English literature.

.) Yes, definitely. I even did academic work on him!

.) I would hype up the character, but I don't think it would be that important -- I have yet to meet someone who dislikes Hank, and he's pretty much lovable as soon as he appears.

.) He's not the most popular or anything -- much like his role in canon, he tends to be a side character in people's interests. But everyone likes him, and the people who love him REALLY love him. If they dislike him at all, it's because of his cat form.
