[Drabble] Doppleganger

 Title: Doppleganger
Fandom: DGM
Character(s): Bak, OC (Renold, police men, outraged guy), and Kanda
A/N: only one person should get the title tbh, and that one person knows who they are. This is an idea concept and it's an introduction to when Bak finally meets Kanda in it. *looks around* This literally showed up out of nowhere and demanded to be written. Sorry for the confusion, you may get an explanation later. *zips lips*

Bak flailed for a moment, eyes widening as he saw the pieces of glass fly by, grazing past and landing on the floor, table, booth behind him. He wanted to call Renold an idiot, but he couldn't find it in himself to speak much more than that. He had been saved and that--that surmounted to something, didn't it? It had to. He jerked his eyes up to see exactly who it had been that had pushed him down in time and his eyes widened impossibly further.

Whoever he...he...was--wait--"You?" Wasn't he the one who --

"Keep your head down." He didn't have time to say much more than that before his head was being forcibly ducked beneath the table and he could hear the loud accusing screams--the crash of other objects flying around, and--

A steel cold voice, saying, "You aren't making this any easier for yourself. You do know that, right?" Bak was almost reminded of the days when he watched Great Uncle Zhuu craft blades--the sound of metal well taken care of as it left the sheath--he resisted the urge to look, but he really, really wanted to.

Who could...?

"I am--not--you--traitor!" If the circumstances had been any different Bak would have looked on in silent disgust. Drunk men were never easy to please, and always easy to anger. But Renold was bleeding (his forehead had been cut, and is nose almost looked bloated) and, well, he had practiced being a doctor....even for idiots.

He was never one to listen to instructions anyway, as he crawled slowly over to where Renold was cowering, hand covering the wound that was now seeping so much blood that it was almost worrisome Head wounds always bleed far too much. Bak sighed, and straightened himself up slightly, They're very misleading. Case in point. He fumbled around for --anything, and found the napkin he had stuffed into his pocket in a mad rush to keep it from falling from the floor (and losing it) when the outburst had started.

"What does it matter? Don't you think it's just as bad that you're--causing trouble here?" Bak could hear the sound of metal through air and chanced a glance over his shoulder--in time to see the bad lighting make the sword gleam.

"What the fuck does that matter? These people--!"

But he never got farther than that. Bak cringed as the metal pressed up against the man's throat, drawing blood as well as silence, "If you kill these people then they die too. Did you ever once think about that?"

Cold, cold--beautiful gray eyes. Bak fumbled and pressed the napkin up against Renold's forhead, hands working with blind eyes because--because--

"K-Kanda..." Wait a--the dark haired man withdrew his sword and sheathed it.

His name is Kanda?

Bak heard heavy footsteps and suddenly--there were police, surrounding the area, "Good work, Kanda, is this the one responsible for --"

"The shooting at west market place?" Kanda snorted, "Yes, he is. Get him out of here. Do whatever the fuck you want and," his eyes scanned the room and landed on Renold. Bak felt a shiver go down his spine, "Get an ambulance." He moved forward, slowly, and for a split second Bak was afraid.

Very, very afraid.

"You don't listen to instructions very well do you?" Bak swallowed, Kanda sighed, sheathing his sword and looking back at the crowd, "I'm gone."

And just like that--he was.
