Somewhere a clock is ticking.

Teddy came over last night and we watched Donnie Darko. It was the first time I'd seen it and I must admit, it was very...odd. It's one of those movies you need to watch more than once to actually understand what's going on and to pick up on all of the symbolism. But, it was still pretty enjoyable as hanging out with Teddy seems to be ;) It's nice to find a friend that you have a good amount of things in common with.

My Blue Jacket of the Year board was this morning. I had to wait until they did the boards for both the month and the quarter, so I was stuck hanging around the squadron about two to three hours more than I was planning. Anyway, I wasn't nervous about the board until about five minutes before it actually happened--it felt like I had elephants doing the two-step in my stomach. I think I did decently, but I don't know if I did well enough to actually receive the award. I have no idea when we'll find out the results either--it could be as long as the middle of next month, unfortunately. Right after my board though, Teddy sent me a text message asking how the new Blue Jacket of the Year was doing, so at least someone else has confidence in my abilities, lol.

John called yesterday when I was driving home to see if I could hang out with him, but I already had plans with Teddy. So, he asked if I was available tonight. I agreed to that and now I'm sitting here waiting for him to call me or to show up at my place. I would have, most likely, gone out with Teddy and gotten dinner or something, but I gave my word to John. So much for that though, it seems.

By the way, I've now finished all of The Dead Zone, so I don't know if I want to start watching another show or if I want to revert back to my usual way and read lots of books. Now that I have my BAH (my housing allowance), I can afford to buy nice little gifts for myself, such as books. I'm tempted.

work, bluejacket, donnie darko, teddy, john, reading, the dead zone, books, navy
