School craziness

Had my first prepared lessons to give today in my teaching internship.

...which was basically my cue for something to go wrong.  I woke up super late this morning, at 7:27 when I was supposed to be at the school at 7:30.  Madly dashing out the door got me there in 15 minutes instead of my usual 30, and I made it with a few minutes to spare before class.  My classes in order are 3D, 1C, and 4D, or 13, 10, and 14-16 year-olds.  3D and 4D will always have similar materials, with a little bit added for 4D since they're older.  For them this time, I had made a worksheet with fill-in-the-blank and word bank material about family ("There are seven people in my ________.  Mom and Dad, who are my two ___________, have five ____________."  Etc, etc).  For 1C, we were going to work on I would like/I do like, so I had up a sheet with many different foods on it.  Unlike the first one, it could not be handwritten.  Unfortunately, when I got to the school, I discovered it had not arrived to the email address there, so I didn't have it for class.  It worked out - we drew pictures on the board instead.  I got to turn some of the questions for 4D into some payback for their questions on the first day: "Who's your favorite relative, and why?"  Hehe...

I made a fair number of mistakes (not having the 1C worksheet, and showing up late), but I didn't fold, and I don't think the teacher was too disappointed - we talked about learning something new every day, that sort of thing.

Got home, napped, scoured my room, went grocery shopping, and am sitting down to an evening of productively doing homework before anything else gets done.

Basically, I'm awesome (today).
