So, I've been keeping my eye out for a summer job, and nothing was really coming to me. Yesterday, I had to go to the bank, and I drove by Farmer John's Greenhouse, and they had a big sign out that said they were hiring. I figured working in a greenhouse might be cool, environmental-type person that I am. So, I went inside and asked for an application. The lady asked me if I wanted to fill it out there. I said no and that I would take it with me. I wasn't sure how serious I was about working there. Then the lady said that they were looking to hire people right away so I should probably fill it out there. I said OK and started to fill it out. I had only written down basically my address and previous work, and I flipped it over to do the references, and a lady came up and said, "You don't have to fill that out." So I gave her my app, she looked at it for about 3 seconds then said "When do you want to start?" I was just like "Ummm...." It was so weird! So she put me down for starting on Monday. Then she looked at how much I requested per hour ($7) and said, "OK, we start at $8.50 an hour." I was like "Whoa! That's too cool!" Then she said, "I'll see you on Monday from 1-9." I said OK, then I had to ask he what her name was as she was walking away because she didn't even introduce herself! It all happened so fast, I was in there for like 10 minutes, then I left with a job! So, if anyone else is looking for a summer job, Farmer John's is the place to go!
