Wan was one word that could describe her general appearance... hellish would be equally fitting. Her expression was drawn, insomnia being par for the course these days, paired with the normal measures of short temperedness and sensitivity that often went with a lack of sleep for those not accoustomed to it. Barefoot, she tread out into the courtyard of her small abode, wincing as the sun hit her eyes, steps mindless of the rocks and such she walked on as she moved to a small waterfall. There, sitting on a rock, was a long serpent, basking in the sun. As it saw her, it uncoiled, tongue flicking her way.

Mustering up a smile, she sat on the rock beside the snake, holding her arm for it to curl up, then laying down on the rock where it'd been, letting it settle on her torso.

"You're not behaving like a normal snake... you're not supposed to be here, you know. I keep expecting him to come storming in here..."

If the serpent understood what she was saying it paid her no heed, forked tongue flicking her cheek, the corner of her lips, then the tears away when they threatened. Frustrated, she turned her view to the water, watching it for a long while before speaking.

"Will you hate me if I break a promise? they will, you know."
