Goal #90, Submit a story to Daily SF
Actually did this last Thursday, and forgot to post! I revamped my MoD story in splendid fashion and sent it in. Duotrope says they respond in about three weeks, and if I remember right, last time I submitted I got my rejection letter pretty much exactly when expected, so they're pretty good at staying on top of their slush pile. Fingers crossed!
Just got my rejection from the Redstone SF contest. Which is fine, I expected it. Now I need to figure out if there's another market for that story....
Lastly, working on my story for UFO: Unidentified Funny Objects. I love the idea of a humorous SF anthology! But the deadline's Friday, and since I'm heading out of town tomorrow I've got to finish it tonight. I've got the start of it, and I finally figured out (at work today) where it's going, so now it's a matter of getting it all down. And then we'll see...humor is iffy, and everyone knows it - maybe the editor will think it's funny, maybe he'll think it's totally lame. There's no way to tell. The point is, it's about opera! I mean, what else could you possibly want?
Incidentally, this is the 50th completed goal! Halfway! (approximately) I'm heading to Disneyland this weekend, so that's another crossed off, and the Wonder Woman bike ride in a couple weeks will cross off another. And I'm on my way on several others, so even though I'm technically behind, I'm doing all right I think!
