Book #50, We Thought You Would Be Prettier

Jul 22, 2008 23:55

Ahahahaha!  I did it!  I hit fifty books before July was even over!  BOOYAH!

So...what do I win?

Anyway, We Thought You Would Be Prettier was another Laurie Notaro book; I just can't get enough of her.  XD  This collection doesn't have much of a theme (like Autobiography of a Fat Bride) but there are some really spectacular ones about her neighbors and her husband.  These books are great to have on hand when having a bad day or feeling a little down; open them up and read a story or two (they're all nice and short) and I realize that as long as some stoner chick doesn't find a maxi pad stuck to a toothbrush in my purse and start waving it like a flag in a high school choir class, my day has not really been that bad.

Total book count:  50/75 - 66.7%
Total page count:  15161/22500 - 67.4%

Up next:  I am totally slacking off on A Fire Upon the Deep.  I need to get back on that before I forget what happened in the first hundred pages.  And maybe Manga Takeout will send me the final volume of Yurara.  Other than that, I think the next one I start will be either Rebel Angels or The Magician.  Maybe.
