i have decided i need to update more. i decide this every time i return to lj but... hopefully with all the changes going on in my life i will have more drive to keep this thing going.
i have had a very productive morning so far. and now i am waiting on a call from the movers so i decided i'd take a break, have lunch, and update.
lets see... what all have i accomplished this morning..? i have done my yoga work out. i have talked to the moving company and finalized my pick up and pack dates... which are really not so much dates plural but now just one day. they are coming to box up and haul off my entire life on friday. (mom's birthday, btw. she is pissy at the military/movers because she told me i'm not allowed to move on her birthday. i remind her that -i- am not moving. just my stuff.) someone is supposed to call me between 1-3 to do an over the phone pre-move survey. i'm not really sure how that will work, i guess i just have to walk room to room and tell her what al i've got. who knows. will probably be taking charles's motorcycle on the truck as well so i will still have to work that out. i have also called to set up our electric in panama city and canceled our account here. talked to the lady at city hall in lynn haven but it seems there's no way around it and i'll have to set up my water and sewer in person. tad inconvenient, but whatever. i am working on getting every speck of laundry done so that a) i can pack what i will need for the next two weeks and b) i will be able to unhook the washer wendesday to make sure its all drained and dry and ready to move on friday. nearly done with that. just have to finish up some towels, run my linens and a load of clothes. not that anyone out there cares about the state of my laundry. but anyway.
had a really great day saturday. mom and mrs. lori came over about 9:30 and we got to cleaning. there were some things we couldn't do since, well, my stuff is still here. but all in all i think the apartment is probably cleaner now than when we moved in. mrs. lori scrubbed my kitchen top to bottom (quite literally. she even had me bring her some q-tips for some of the smaller, hard to reach areas... lol) and i think it would be quite safe to say you could eat directly off of any surface in there. she even climbed up on my counter and scrubbed down the top cabinets. and during this process she discovered two empty koolaid packets up on top of the center cabinets. she handed them down to me and i noticed that the damn things had been painted over so they had obviously been up there since way before we moved in. oy. at least now i know thats one place the apartment people will not be checking... there was also an epic battle with the george foreman grill... but the genie is back in the bottle now... and/or the box. whatever. took about 20 minutes though. mom and i attacked the back room... there is actually a good amount of floor space in there now. still not optimum but i don't know that there's much more i can do... after we cleaned, mom picked up audrey and we went for red lobster for lunch! ( i was craving cheddar biscuts... lol) then mom, audrey, and i went to the movies and saw Eat Pray Love. it wasn't like epic or anything but i enjoyed it. one of those feel good, self discovery kind of movies. audrey had and has read the book which i have now borrowed from her. mom dropped me off after the movie and i just kind of sat around feeling kinda blick. emotions were doing weird things seeing the apartment starting to look less like home and more like piles of boxes. realizations that this is really happening did strange things to my tummy. i'm not entirely sure i'm ready to leave... not that i have a choice.
sunday morning i went to my parents and mom, audrey, and i watched the sound of music. we've watched it at least once every summer since before i can remember... silly little tradition thing. (during summer we watch this, and over winter break we always watched white christmas...) we hadn't don't it yet this summer and i wanted to do it one more time before i left. we practically know every word to every line and song in the entire movie. have you ever seen that mystery science theater where the guy and the robots sit in the front row of a theater and comment through the whole thing? that's how we watch this movie. we sing along and dance and its just generally very silly. maria reminds me of my mother. afterward i hung out with mom for a while and we chatted. talked a lot about how to deal with crazy in-laws because my dad's family is nuts too... lol. daddy got home from his weekend with the boys and we all went out to mccalisters for dinner and sat and chatted for a while there. audrey is hi. larious. she loves history and loves to tell us what she's learning in history class. and she tells it like one long rambling silly story. during dinner she told us about the mexican american war and the alamo and whatnot. you'd just have to hear the way she does it though. omg. "and so the mexicans were like 'well poop, thats not how it was supposed to work...' ". classic. i told her she needs to rewrite history books in 'audrey'. i'd actually read them then. lol. then we went home and watched invictus. very good movie i thought. though i don't understand rugby at all. but whatever. anyway. whole day of family bonding. pretty awesome. i'm going to miss them so much. i figure i'll be back that the end of september for audrey's birthday... but i will miss all the day to day stuff. :(
tomorrow i'm going to get my dress for the big fancy military dinner thing altered. seems i'm too short. who'd have guessed? its really pretty though. its floor length (well... more than that at the moment) and a dark burgundy color. i've got a really pretty, blingy brooch that pins on at the bottom of the deep v neckline in the front and its all sparkly and awesome. i bought silvery shoes and blingy earrings and hair pins to match it. the straps go over my shoulders and down in a v on my back (the whole dress is structured a lot like my brides maids dresses actually...) and they frame my tattoo very nicely :) lol. hope nobody at this thing has a problem with tats cuz mine will be in full view! and anyways, i love it so who the crap cares. there's a little bit of beading accent around the empire waistline. and there's a silly bow on the back right where the straps connect... i cant decide if i like it or not and am debating just chopping it off. i dunno.
wednesday is our lastest movie night evar... :( well... not really. cuz we can still do the party watch on netflix with everyone, but still... tre sad. nick has volunteered to have us come over to his place again. so we will be able to play with the puppy :) speaking of which, dawn is going out of town on wednesday so she will miss the "puppy class" they take gizmo to every week to learn to train him and such. nick was whining about how he wasn't going to go by himself so... looks like i'm going to puppy class on thursday. lol. the rest of thursday will most likely be spent making sure i've got what i need packed seprately and that the apartment is ready for the movers...
then friday is moving day/ mom's bday/ audrey's first football game. lol. gonna be busy. i'll probs hang out with family a lot over the weekend for mom's bday and because my apartment will be empty.
after that, monday and tuesday are all i'll have left before a weeks worth of craziness ensues. i will leave op on wednesday morning but will not actually be settling in our new place until the following tuesday. holy crap.
anyhoo. just finished talking to the lady for our pre-move thingie so i guess break time is over. back to work!!! ahhhhh!!! cant wait for these next couple weeks to be over so i can breathe again...
