There is going to be 5-3 female majority for the student's union officers next year!
I'm so fucking happy!
A few weeks ago it looked like the role of women's officer was going to be abolished by the right wing clique currently in charge of the union. But tonight the election results came out and not only did Fiona win women's officer (and she was the only candidate for that position that was 100% behind keeping the role) but there is a female majority!!!
Even if I'm leaving, I'm still so glad that the students have done something amazing and voted for lots of ace women*
(*and one who might possibly be a bit homophobic and used homophobic slurs agains another female candidate who really should have won)
