http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7057888.stm So, southern California is on fire. 500,000 people have been evacuated, people have died, lives are being ruined etc. The only mention of it on BBC news? To tell us all the Tom Cruise is worrying, but his friends are all alright.
WELL THANK GOD FOR THAT!!! I was REALLY worried about Tom Cruise, I was losing sleep.
In other news I think I've found somewhere to live!
I just need to phone the landlady back tomorrow to tell her I want the room. It's the nice cheap house in Fulwood, which is quite far away from everyone I know, but it's a really nice house. 4 other people (I met one of them and another is also only just moving in), 2 bathrooms, really nice kitchen, living room, another room that not really used for anything. The room I'll be having is quite smallish but has lots of space for shoes and is really warm (this is the grim north, so warmth is important).
So yes, this is good.
Now I need to write me CV. I actually have one, but it's in German so it's not much help for applying for jobs in Meadowhell. And I think Paperchase is looking for staff and I ADORE Paperchase.
Yes, I know, that's weird, but I like stationary and stationary shops. They make me happy in a child at Christmas way but also strangely soothed and relaxed. Of course if I get a job there I might not still feel this air of calm, but I will be being paid, so you win some, you lose some!
