(yet again we have a scenic change in the musebox. the sun swelters as it shines down on the landscape; a barren desert with nothing to see for miles and miles, the distant horizon looking like a mirage through the heatwaves rising off the sand. the occasionally winds kick up the grains and swirl them into the air in mini cyclones that die as fast ( Read more... )

(Ezio's just standing on a rooftop, looking out over the city. if you can manage to see his face with his hood you'd see he's frowning. being in a place like this is not so great for a guy wearing so many layers.)

Well, this is troubling...

[Altaïr always hated it when these sorts of things happened to him. Without explanation. Especially without explanation. And they always happened without explanation.

Grunting in annoyance the Hashshashin hopped from one high perch to another. At least something had caught his eye. Or rather, someone. He began to sneakily make his way toward that certain someone. A someone who was kinda wearing clothing that looked all too familiar. And yet at the same time was slightly off from his Brotherhood.

Well, he'd figure it all out one way or another.]

...the fact that you're easy to sneak up upon, or the fact that this desert looks drier than the Judean Desert?

(he doesn't turn when he hears Altaïr's voice behind him, doens't even jump; even though he wasn't raised to be an assassin like the other he was still a damn good one and he'd known someone had been coming. the only thing that may have surprised him was who that someone ended up being.

nevertheless, a tiny smirk curled his lips, hidden from the view of the older man.)

Would you like to know?

(heat wasn't going to stop Ezio, even now; and suddenly he took off like a shot, one moment standing stockstill and in the next running with the grace of a cat across the rooftop, jumping from the edge onto the next one over. yes, he was initiating, more or less, a game of tag with the other assassin.)

[Altaïr scowled at both the words and then again at the too playful manner in which the younger man ran off. What childishness was this? He didn't have time for this.

Then again, what else had he to do in this foreign place?

Still annoyed, but a little willing the Assassin leapt gracefully to the next building and began to follow expertly the other.]

(bouncing from place to place is getting REALLY annoying. and Wesker haets too much sun. so he would be walking the maze of streets restlessly, keeping to the shadows of the buildings and looking utterly annoyed.)

The multiverse theory seems infinitely less and less amazing when you're actually experiencing it.

It is not so bad. I suppose.

When it is at utterly random and with no sense of control it's aggravating at best and utterly inconveniencing at worst.

[small nod, produces an umbrella -- opens it and holds it over Wesker's head]

The sun is bad for your complexion.

(when he complained about being cold he wasn't asking for THIS kind of heat. fuck moving, Alex is staying sitting in the shade of a building, stripped down to only his dress shirt and pants. it's way too fucking hot to wear his hoodie and jacket.)

[And he is joined by a white-haired figure in a black sleeveless shirt and lightweight blue pants.]

So, warm enough yet?

(you are just getting an irritated look for that, Atellus.)

Har.

[And Alex just gets a smirk for that in return]

Don't think I've ever seen your face in full sunlight before.

[Dante watched the landscape change around him through red tinted eyes, a feeling of newfound horror suddenly overwhelming his one from before--until the surroundings settled in around him and he realize... there was no one here for him to hurt. Or rather, his devil to hurt with his body ( ... )

(Cato had been enjoying the sun and the landscape as well, happily going shadow-hopping about the place like an excited kid, exploring the ruins and enjoying the warmth of the sun.

it stopped and his enjoyment quickly faded, however, when he spotted a large devil laying on a rock nearby his most recent perch on a rooftop. and a rather familiar devil at that: Dante's devil. but well... there was no one here to hurt and the devil looked pretty damn comfortable where it was. maybe it'd be too content to attack anybody anyway.

and how comfortable it looked ended up luring Cato over to it cautiously, staring up at the creature that had once nearly killed him. it looked like... well, in his eyes a cat in the sun. many would probably disagree with him but many probably also weren't fellow devils. he was half-tempted to approach it, join it where it lay so happily in the sun but stayed a respectful distance away at the moment, not wanting to risk getting attacked again.)

[The devil's eyes snapped over to the Shadow devil as soon as it reached a certain threshold of closeness to its person. The red-tinted eyes were a rather dull looking hue at the moment--likely a sign of its current contentment. Were they to suddenly flare bright crimson the Shadow would know it'd done something wrong.

As it was the eight-foot devil simply kept a lidded eye on its new fellow demon, refusing to get off its rock for some pest. It rumbled once, a brief disgruntled sound that was much like a human snorting in vague annoyance.]

(he tilted his head at it, relieved when nothing happened. he drew closer slowly, cautiously under the attentive watch of the other devil, showing a sort of humbleness. the devil's form may have been different from when Cato fought it, looked more like Dante this way, but he still knew who was the stronger of them.

eventually he got close enough to sink to sit on the ground beside the other, his back against the rock. as tempting as it was to just close his eyes and snooze in the warmth right then and there Cato didn't allow himself to relax until the other did.)
