It's picking up! Hooray!!
I'm getting a little contract work here and there. Gawd it feels good. I'm loading the truck for Friday Night Lights tomorrow, then doing the gig starting next Saturday. Friday, before the whole gig, I'm going to San Antonio to do a little commercial. Nice little job. I'll have to check my monster out before I take the drive.
So, my birthdayness went well. At the stroke of midnight Frank and Mare toasted me with some pear cider, and the following day I toasted my parents with some Guiness. Unfortunately, my very first legal beer was spilled all over the counter when I was scrambling to get habanero juice out of my eye.
I got to geek out and watch old He-Man cartoons at FrankenMare's, then I made a fabulous cake which I forced everyone not to eat all of because I had to save some for my sister.
Last weekend was the real celebration for me. I went to the Bass Nectar show on Friday night and danced my booty off with my sister, Heather, Chris and Laura, and of course the multitudes of boogy happy friends that showed up to the show. At one point outside in the cold a group of us were all huddled in a circle and we decided that we were an ameoba, so we attacked near by people and absorbed them into our clutches. Hehehe. Then we danced the hokey pokey...then they started to do the chicken dance and I left, but I heard they went on to do the bunny hop as well.
On Saturday I went to Corinna's party at Jason's place.
Throughout the evening I had a lot of silly conversations, a lot of interesting conversations, and a really moving experience within myself when I recognized some things that I'd been keeping in for a long time.
I took the time to really think out and explain why I love Tristan so much, and it really helped me to get it all out. I have been holding in a lot of my feelings for him since I don't get to see him often.
I had a great time there talking with everyone, some people I knew previously, and some I had only seen around. It was nice getting to know people better, and sharing the mass amounts of food that I made.
Damn I love to cook.
Thanks again for the fucking awesome chef's knife, Brian. :)
