12:30p-2p Workshop Description: Wondering what Tribal belly dance is all about? This workshop will focus on tribal basics including technique, movements, combinations and group dance. Learn how to utilize cues and combinations for American Tribal Style group improvisation. Learn how to apply Tribal type movements to your solo dance. Also, learn how to create a Tribal look to your costuming.
Neylan has been dancing and performing in New England for the past 6years, and has studied various dance styles from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is the director of Daughters of Neylan a student based troupe and is currently forming a new Tribal based troupe.
2:15p-3:30p Workshop Description: Melting Pot Combos- Belly dance gets mixed in the kettle with various world dances, and is ladled out as eclectic fusion combos to mix into your ATS or solo piece.
Karina Khan of Lotus Moon World Fusion Belly Dance - Karina performs throughout New England as a soloist and as a member of Lotus Moon. She can be found teaching at their home studio, Lotus Rising, in Rollinsford NH, and in Kittery ME. Her dance background ranges from Belly Dance to Ballet, Flamenco to Goth. Ms. Khan placed first in the Fusion Category of the Boston Belly Dance Awards 2006.
