K I heard of this thing called the World Politics club. So I went. It was so cool they are rasing money for the victims of the Genocide in Sudan. They are also asking for volunteers to go on a two day hunger strike to prove how much we want to help (I don't know exactly what kind of help... but the things that are going on there are just horrible) the Sudanese refugees that are still trapped in Sudan. I am going to do it. Yeah two days without food for Sudaneese kids who are having to stay in neiboring Chad (and Sudan) due to civil war and a corrupt government that has gone on a killing spree (Christians, Muslims, Blacks, Whites it matters not). Doctors Without Borders are stationed there but are at high risk of starvation. Whats two days compared to the possibly year long sacrifice these peoople are making? Most of these people haven't had something decent to in over a week, and many are dying of thirst. So I would like to ask you all to either show your suport through donations (at the UC the week before spring break) because any ammount will help. $1 will feed two people for a day. Crazy huh? We spend that much on a coke. We are also selling green bracelets in the UC for $2 and $1.55 of it is going to these refugees. So please come out and just show your suport even if it isn't monetary you can help by telling others who can give such recorces. There is so much need there and a dollar is a rather minute sacrifice that can help so many in need. Now as all of you know I normaly don't use my LJ for such things as a plug for something stupid. This is not something stupid. Please if you can just a dollar will help two someones not go hungry so talk about bang for your buck. I would personally really appreciate it too.
