It begins.
Um, hello. My name is Harley. I've had a Live Journal account for a few months now, but I've never actually posted anything until now; my girlfriend's page usually suffices for entertainment purposes. Writing is one of the few things I'm actually kinda good at, so I guess I should be doing a bit more of it if I want it to be a major part of my career. That's where this comes in. Don't be expecting too much pretentious, erudite prose yet, though [although I'm sure it will get a look in]; this is basically a medium through which I can warm to the task of stringing words together in a coherent manner. The subject matter shouldn't extend too far beyond the quotidian [look out, he's starting already :D].
But I digress. For those of you who don't know me [which at this point probably doesn't include a whole lot of people], I am an Arts student at Melbourne Uni soon to be commencing my third year, majoring in Japanese. I work at Home Hardware in South Melbourne, and these two arenas are the ones that basically dominate my life at this point in time. My aforementioned girlfriend is the lovely Wen, whom you can find at spaiety.livejournal.com, a page that is full of cuteness and fun and pictures, most of which she has drawn herself, talented thing that she is. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.
Um, what else? I love my music [bands: Interpol, Fiery Furnaces, Spoon, Deerhoof, there's more but I'll stop there], reading [authors: Rushdie, Ellis, Elmore Leonard], and, when I have time, TV [shows: 24, Blackpool, Drawn Together]. I catch the AFL when I can, supporting the mighty Magpies. That's about it; between uni and work I don't get time for much else. Hopefully I can make this thing as interesting as possible for anyone who cares to read it.
Anyway, I should be off soon, tomorrow's Valentine's Day! <3 [Happy Birthday Al! ;D]
