I just transplanted the hugest wolf spider from the indoors to the outdoors. This was the biggest spider I've ever captured. I feel like such a Pokemon master!
I was really worried of hurting his spindly legs with the cup but I think he'll be alright. (Editor's note: I don't know why I'm referring to him as a 'he', I swear I haven't sexed it.)
I listened to this guy on NPR last month talking about how bugs are so small that they're one of the only things people can just kill without even thinking about it. It made me kind of thoughtful, and even ants I'm trying not to just squish them between my fingers. I know its silly, because everything's going to die anyway, and like, when you put a spider outside, isn't he way worse off and more prone to being eaten by a bird or something?
I think I'm going to go running soon.
