I left work early to get my haircut. I go to this place on North I ST, that has a massaging shampoo chair. Yes, please!
One of the better parts about being a single person is never having to worry about whether or not my hair looks stupid. Who am I going to embarrass? Ever since I was pushed out the barbershop, freshly shorn, I've struggled with my hair. It gets long and looks like a mullet, it get cut, and it's too short, and I look like a G.I. I really need some solidarity in my life right now, and it's nice just having it out of my eyes. The stylist is funny and worries a lot about her son when she's at work.
On my way home from the haircut place, I walked through campus as the clock struck five, and this time the bells played something I'd never heard before at school. They were playing the Sounds of Silence, by Simon & Garfunkel, but on a set of bells. Because they don't have a bell-tower, it's all recorded somewhere else and played over some really loud speakers. I wonder how often they change it up? Anyway, it was really beautiful and made me stop to listen to the whole recording.
