Adam and Straight/Kris go out on a boat, get caught in a storm and become castaways on a deserted island. Their clothes become ragged, and the exposed skin, time, and surviving alone 'does something' to the boys...

Kris Allen knew things were bad when he got called to the dean's office at his university. He just didn't expect to see his estranged father when he arrived or the proposal his father offers him. Little does Kris know that by signing his name on the dotted line, he's agreed to become the personal blood donor to a vampire prince and there is not breaking this blood contract.

Prince Adam Lambert is dying. He needs a blood donor with pure blood. When Kris is brought to him, Adam finds himself dealing with feelings he has never experienced before. Falling in love with his blood donor was never part of the contract.

Kris has always been a really laid back kind of guy. But when someone (paps, bigots) threaten Adam, Kris springs to his defense and throws some punches. Adam never realized Kris felt so protective of him.

The story begins with the rake Adam, Lord Lambert, striking a deal with Kris Allen, the stuttering son of a sickly club owner whose uncle is plotting to marry him to a cousin, kill him and take his father's money. Kris offers up his future inheritance to Adam in exchange for the protection of marriage and assistance in seeing his father before he dies. They embark for Scotland, where they have a hasty marriage. Despite their mutual mistrust, they forge a tentative bond, but Adam is alarmed by his powerful reaction to the consummation, while Kris tries to defy her feelings for this playboy.
