My husband broke our keyboard while I was in the hospital, so I haven't been online until tonight.
Here's my really quick update. I just took a Percocet and it's making me drowsy.
- Jaxon is a natural at breastfeeding. It's the most gratifying experience of my life.
- Jaxon went to the doctor today for a normal appointment. In the hospital, he dropped to 7 lbs, 15 oz on Thursday (he was 24 hours old). The next day (my milk came in hardcore), he was 8 lbs, 2 oz. Today, he is 8 lbs, 7 oz. We don't have to go back for a 2 week appointment because he's doing so well. His circumcision is healing great. He's gaining weight, obviously. No jaundice. He's grown 1/2 and inch (he's now 21 inches). He has a big wobbly head that he picked up for the doctor (she said he's very strong and very long legged!). Anyone know where I can find a percentile chart thing to record this stuff??
- We went to my in laws for their Christmas. Madison loved opening presents (my birthday presents, our welcome baby Jaxon presents, her own birthday presents and Christmas presents) and gave up to play with toys by the time my presents for Christmas came up. She ran amuck with her cousin Ellen while my sister in law and I played with Jaxon.
- I can barely stand to let go of my son, I just love him so much. I truly really missed having a baby, but I'm so ridiculously glad that he's our last.
- Oh, he sleeps 4 hours a night and barely ever cries, except during diaper changes, which he hates. He doesn't even cry for food. I'm attuned to him to hear him rooting in the middle of the night.
- I bought a breast pump today because my milk production is insane, just like it was with Maddy. So I'm stock piling.
The good ends there.
- I came home to find out that one of my cousins, Tony, died of a drug overdose. He was found on the streets of Newark, NJ. No word whether it was an accident or.. otherwise.
- A large piece of ice fell from our roof and now there is a giant spiderweb crack across the front windshield of our car. I cried because I thought we would miss Christmas (ie, not able to drive to Massachusetts to my Grandparent's house). My husband was sweet enough to hug me in my crying glory and then beg his mom to loan us her car which he then went out to retrieve, along with more Heroes DVD's. Proving why I married him. But the car is still busted. (Good news is that my mom's insurance covers glass breakage for free).
- I found out that one of my favorite LJ friends was in a very serious car accident, but thankfully has opened her eyes. I'll be praying for you Amanda! Please get better.
- I can't find my digital camera, meaning I can't take pictures of my adorable children and I can't upload the ones I have taken of my new son and all his beautiful hair. I'll have to steal my brother's tomorrow.
I think that's it..
All in all, it's evened out. I just hope things get better in the morning. I'm depressed right now. But I've been up since 7am.
