Education and Service Learning ManagerAmerica’s #1 conservation service organization seeks an Education and Service Learning Manager for our Massachusetts Conservation Corps Program located in Hawley, MA. This position will oversee operational and administrative aspects of the 5-month environmental education service component of a 10-month, 24-member residential program.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage the education service activity of program
Design and implement environmental education training programs
Provide support, counsel, and advice to corps members
Provide field-based supervision and technical and logistical support
Actively participate in residential community including attending weekly community meetings
Supervise specialized programming including program development, coordination and oversight, mentoring member program leadership, and overseeing member/volunteer recruitment
Conduct evaluative site visits
Complete general program administrative duties shared by all staff
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in science, environmental education or related field, required
2 -4 years classroom teaching and curriculum development experience preferred required
Community organizing skills and strong capacity to work in a team
Proven supervisory, organizational, and program development skills
Experience with service-learning methodologies preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong MS Office skills
Experience living and working in a residential setting preferred
Current Wilderness First Responder and CPR Certification
Valid drivers license and MVR that meets SCA standards and willingness to travel regionally
Ability to meet SCA’s criminal background check standards
Position Start Date: September 1, 2009. Salary based on experience. Room provided.

not exactly, but i can put a few feelers out. my best friend might be interested in their organization, but she may not qualify for the position. thanks for the thought. how'd you find this/why were you looking?

a random recruiter sent me an IT job in NH. This is what came up for Mass for this company. I remembered you were vaguely working in this area. With this economy, I try to share these jobs....
