[She catches the sound of the door closing from the jointed rooms and scrambles to turn off her device. She's follows after him, catching up only right before they make it to the room.]
[Why were they derpy enough to comment through devices when they were in the same room? Oh well--That was fast catching up.]
Quick on your feet as always. [A short laugh as he leans a shoulder again the door to room 309, bracing himself as he heaves it open.] Zhere we are. A bit easy to budge non? [And there's his usual grin, just before he moves into the room.]
[Seras didn't want to make Sir Integra suspicious! Leave her alone!
Cautiously she followed Pip into the room, pushing back the nervousness that welled up inside of her. Making sure the door is shut behind them, she turns to look up at Pip. She speaks, her voice barely above a whisper.]
Seras's soft voice caused more worry than it should have. He was far too used to her being loud, or cute and stuttering--quiet and serious didn't suit her.]
...You wanted to talk, Mignonette? What about? [He's quiet too, but he'd rather dive into the issue than flirt around it.]
[For a good minute she looked at him without speaking. Her stomach clenched and unclenched from nerves. She had been wanting to speak to him for a week and had finally gained the courage.
After a ragged breath she stepped next to him. Gently she grabbed the sleeve of his shirt. Looking down, she avoided eye contact altogether.]
[The silence caught his attention long before the hand at his sleeve did. He turned to glance down out her as she slid close.
Another beat of silence and then--oh. His gaze softened, and he was half tempted to pull Seras into a tight hug. Of course, that would be the detail she would have held onto.]
Oui...I did Mignonette. [No use trying to hide that. Seras would had already caught on after all.] I did say it was worth it...zhat was true. Still is.
[He may have spoken in a foreign language when he said he was dead but Seras hadn't missed all the hints he had dropped. Dead. Died for her even, hadn't he said. Her life wasn't worth death, not by a long shot.
She continued looking downwards, eyes beginning to blur as tears threatened to fall as she clenched his shirt harder. Words were hard to find.]
Why... Why would you die for me? I'm... [she paused, searching for the correct words.] Already dead...
Track This [Already dead? Not by a long shot in Pip's mind. Even if vampires were the undead, Seras was probably the most alive person Pip ever met.
Still--He didn't know what to say to her. What could he say?]
Mign-[No not that teasing name, not now.] Miss Vic-[Not that one either. Look at him, fumbling over names.]
Seras. I don't regret it. [And that was the funny thing, he really had no regrets over it.] You're every bit alive as me--and I would trade zhis life a 'undred times over for you to keep yours.
[Seras did not look up, refused to look up as a wet hot tear streamed down her cheek despite how much she tried not to. She couldn't let Pip see her cry.]
But it's not fa- [she choked on her words.] It's not fair. If it wasn't for this place you wouldn't have gotten a second chance to life... Not like I did.
[He can't see her crying, but he knows--knows--she is. And that hits him hard, because the only time he has seen her cry was when the tears ran red.]
Fair. [Death was never fair, but--] Listen to me, Mignonette. I went in knowing something like zhat could 'appen. It is fair, and I didn't need a promise of some second chance. I did 'ope we could both make it, but we didn't and I was ready for it. [There's a heavy sigh, and Pip can't help but think things were easier when he was dying and she couldn't ask why.]
[Gently, she released his shirt from her grip and shook her head slowly from side to side. Blue eyes looked everywhere but at the man standing before her.]
You shouldn't have died for me. [A point she would argue until kingdom come if she had to.]
