quick facts about my weekend...

all governments are corrupt. all of them. i dont believe otherwise. this weekend on my bumpy two hour ride to the mountains, the peruvian police stopped our van and we had to wait 30 min and then pay 20 soles... eugh. anyway. i climbed my first mountain! whoo. i wont lie, it was the closest thing to being tortured i´ve endured for some parts. it started out wonderful, but then came the rain then the hail and not to mention how fucking cold it was. luckily we brought ponchos. but the ends meets the means, because i really couldnt be too unhappy in such a beautiful place. we ate lunch in a cave to avoid the rain. it was chicken and bread sandwiches, water, plantanes, and some cake and it was by far the best lunch i've had in awhile...haha. it tasted so good. after a quick rest we continued. i have some fucking cool pictures. luckily we didnt have to carry anything because we had a cute pack of llamas with us to carry it. finally after 5 hours we reached 4,700m. (i think around 14,600 ft?) man it felt good. we hiked back down and slept in a one room schoolhouse. it was by far the nicest place in the area. this small village were sheep llama and alpaca herders and shearers, and they lived in stone houses and wow....it's something you see in national geographic, you know? not something i'd ever think i would see in real life. it was amazing, and incredibly humbling. i cant go on to explain how much it affected me. nor do i want to. the next morning after cooking our dinner and breakfast we got to go horseback riding over the mountain again! we didnt go as high but it was quite a day. my horse was very tame and i'm anxious to ride again. its very freeing. uhm. yeah. i dont know what else to say right now. somebody let me know how everyone is doing in ft walton...how is everyone's spring break? i miss you guys. im going to the post office and bank now. adios.
