[ he groaned, opening his eyes to pitch blackness and feeling of stickiness coating his face with thick, congealed blood. He groaned again, rolling over and crawling, wincing at the pain in his shoulder, on his arm. He needed to stand, he needed to find Xerxes, Rufus. He had to tell them...
What was he supposed to tell them?
Blinking his eyes open again, Liam gritted his teeth and used the nearest... whatever to pull himself up, a faint spray of water misting his face even as the video feed slowly blinked into being at his clumsy efforts. The spray was a boon as the shock of water woke up him up, as it gave him that edge of alertness he needed. He had to tell them. He had to tell them all who the Baskervilles were, what they wanted.

It took only a moment and then he returned to them to the bridge of his nose. ]
This... This is Abyss? [ the horror in his voice, is obvious ] I... I can't be dead. [ his face went white. Not from fear of his own demise, but that his friends would shortly follow. So sorry, Xerxes, so sorry, Lady Rainsworth. His deepest apologies, Master Barma. Liam had failed after all.]
not quite dead,
the abyss
