relationships in tv

You know what really grinds my gears? (/Family Guy referance)

When two characters are put together on a show because the actors playing them are dating IRL. Nine times out of ten this is bad idea and will probably end up costing the show. A lot. Great for the actors, I have nothing against people dating whoever they want, but you know what writers? If you weren't planning to put the two characters together until you found out the actors playing them were, then DON'T PUT THEM TOGETHER AT ALL. You'll hurt yourselves in the end. I'm not saying this is always bad, sometimes it even works, but rule of thumb (from what I've seen) it just creates crappy storylines, plus when (if) the actors break up and then you just have this relationship thing you've built for no good reason, which is now awkward especially if it was a bad break up.

Also, is it so hard to write a stable relationship in any show? Yes, drama is great, and we all tune it for it, but so can a stable and loving relationship, you know. RST can be good. I know, be shocked. Further more, not everybody has to cheat the minute after a fight or have an illegitimate child that pops in out of nowhere.

what really grinds my gears, oh show!, no no no
