picspam: Shazza/Aeryn/Vala; a comparison
As I promised earlier, a picspam comparing Shazza, Aeryn and Vala. Shorter than I would have liked, but finding good caps for Pitch Black is tough, which is sad because it's actually not that bad of a film, even though it totally sucks that Shazza and Carolyn die because they were AWESOME. The sequel is far less awesome imo, but I wish I still had the first one because then I would have made my own caps. Oh, well, it still doesn't take away from the awesome that are these women.
All three women kick ass, that's no shock. Shazza is a prospector/geologist who is all set to outrun the crazy monster-bats that are trying to eat everyone. Aeryn, well, Aeryn Sun is the biggest badass this side of the universe; she aims, she shoots, she kills your ass. And Vala Mal Doran, the craziest and awesomest thief ever to steal your shit, she's survived being a host and then just kept on going being her awesome self. All three didn't back down from the crap life gave them--not all of them survived, actually, they all died, but only two of them came back to life (Aeryn and Vala). Not bad odds if you ask me.
All three look pretty covered in dirt, in pain, in blinding light, or asleep (cryo-stasis and death in Shazza's and Aeryn's cases, respectively.)
They hang out with awesome people, have love interests that sometimes die, and/or who sometimes they grow old with, but throughout it all they keep being awesome and looking good. In the end it doesn't matter if they died, have minor or supporting roles, because all three are shine the entire time they're on your screen. They all have different strengths, different weaknesses, different problems to face, but they stand tough through it all.
Their buddies (and enemies) are just as cool as they are. Some of them die, some don't, but they make pretty pictures regardless.
Lastly, no matter their differences all three are great, strong women that don't back down in the face of adversity. Besides their strength of will and determination to survive there's one last very important similarity in between these characters: all three were given life by one truly awesome woman. Claudia Black lends her immense talent and greatness to these character, adding her own awesome to theirs making them EPIC WIN.
