WIP list, because friends suffer together.
So yeah, in the hopes that this will actually prod me into writing more regularly than I did last year, I'm thinking that I'm going to start doing a monthly WIP list. (Idea form LG, who as my writing/enabling partner more often than not does not deserve to suffer the plot bunny and muses alone.)
i. Chains of Freedom [SG-1 AU]. Daniel/Vala. The Stargate universe with many twists and turns. Humans have populated much of the galaxy and Lantea is home base for many of our people, but most of it takes place on the Prometheus, the ship Jack O'Neill and his crew call home. Status: the word count scares me so all I say is, I NEED TO FINISH IT. I'm currently stalled on the last third of the story, and if we're talking chapters I have about 8 to go. (Hopefully.) This is my beast, I will slay it.
ii. Steady As She Goes [SG-1]. Vala, gen. Was originally another the end of Ark of Truth could have gone, but since them I've decided I dislike my original premise and it needs a restart. Complete restart. Status: 5k that will definitely need to be torn apart and altered.
iii. What Will Tomorrow Bring [SGA AU, Coyoteverse]. Elizabeth/John, past verse canon Cam/Vala. Okay, this is a weird one. Technically I wrote a tiny, tiny one shot that still sits on my HD way back when, but being new to John/Elizabeth and a total wimp I never posted it. Then later, ideas sparks and a whole plot happened in my head. A sort of look into the future that Elizabeth saw in Genesis and how one thing came to be. Unsurprising, I stuck Vala in there too. Status: 890 words. Probably will finish at 10+k.
iv. Gravity of Love [SG-1]. A whole verse in the making. Daniel/Vala. It looks like an apocofic. It came after watching one of Stef's vids and the summary it popped into my head fully formed: The universe keeps trying to keep them apart. Unfortunately for the universe, they won't let it. ;) Status: 1400 words and notes. Will need tons of work.
v. They Found A Desert And Called It Peace [SG-1]. Cam's story after he jumps through the gate in Continuum. Those 10 years. And the people he meets. Status: technically, unstarted save some notes. Also kinda just floating out there, because I know that BB did that Cam backstory thing for iTunes and I need to get my hand on that. I have thing for getting it as close to canon as possible. Status: Notes, unstarted.
vi. Only Fools [SG-1 AU]. Daniel/Vala. Let's just say I'm calling this my excuse of AU fluff and Caribbean fun. And no, it's not based on POTC. ;) Status: ~3.4k, end at 10k, easy.
vii. That Thing That Doesn't Have A Title Yet [SG-1]. Co-write with little_giddy for stargate_summer. Status: minimum word count is 50,000, to be written for May 15th 2009. Unstarted save notes.
viii. Weight Of The World (title might change) [Merlin]. For reel_merlin, due to be posted between February 22nd - March 1st. An Ironman AU, in where Arthur excels at being a anti-hero with alcohol and daddy issues, Merlin and Morgana prove just how much patience and love they have for him, Gwen gets to be a Air Force Pilot and we have a snarky AI called DRAGON that runs the house. You think I'm kidding. Status: 2.8k and looking to finish out between 5-10k.
ix. Like Waterloo [T:SCC]. Kate/John, The future is battlefield, but so is the past. Kate and John are fighting two different wars in the past to stop Judgement Day born out this line Cameron was John’s, but Allison. She was Kate’s.. Status: Unstarted.
x. The Morgana Piece I Want To Write [Merlin]. Morgana is favourite character, no doubt and god, I want to write her something worthy of the complicities and awesomeness of her character. Probably will have to do with Avalon, as I have major Avalon kink. Status: Ideas that just aren't good enough.
xi. Untitled [Chuck]. Episode tag to the last episode aired, forgive me Chuck for forgetting the episode name! Chuck is not a happy semi-spy and angst is so not his thing. Probably a one shot. Status: ~730 words atm.
xii. The Long Plotty Chuck Fic I Want To Write [Chuck]. I just want to give this show that I heart SO MUCH a worthy fic. It would be (ideally) fun, plotty, semi-angsty (Chuckles don't *do* angst), Sarah/Chuck, Ellie/Awesome, probably Ellie finding out about Chuck, spy-world with Alias like stunts, and Buymoria moments of crack. So, you know, cake. Status: a beautiful dream.
xiii. Untitled [SG-1]. Daniel/Vala fic I owe for the February Love Fest thing over at daniel_vala. Status: Unstarted.
January goal: Top propriety: The DV fic, and reel_merlin fic since they're due in Feb. Also, cut away on CoF-- at least two more chapters.
