That is exactly how I could see a kid acting, especially a loner with a personality similar to Gabriel's...he's very protective, and can probably be pretty dangerous...
And now I'm curious to see how the other boys will respond (if you mention them again) and how close he and Mohinder will get. :)
I like that as "innocent" as this chapter sounds there's already this quiet indication of what's brewing beneath Gabriel's surface. The first time Gabriel stands up for something, conjures up his strength and fights -- hurts someone -- it's to protect Mohinder. I also imagine that Mohinder's still seeing them as friends (after...and before...he reminds Sylar that it's not necessary to do what he did) is a big turning point for Gabriel. I can see Mohinder coming to mean so much more to him from this moment on. It does a nice job of setting up what will come in the future (based on your initial idea).
Thank you! I'm glad you took note of the violence brewing beneath the surface when it comes to Gabriel, and the fact that Gabriel took action for Mohinder.
You're really setting things up nicely here, with that flash of violence from Gabriel and his growing attachment to/obsession with Mohinder. I like it; looking forward to more!
Hah I love little Gabriel standing up for Momo though he hadn't done it for himself. Momo should be a bit more greatful about it, he was gonna be pummelled after all.
Why do I get the feeling Momo will wake up one night with Gabriel standing at the foot of his bed.lol
