-6F was the record low temperature reached in Mansfield, Ohio earlier this morning, while Columbus missed the record low of -10F by 10 degrees. If you are fairly decent with math, you would have guess that the temperature was 0F last night. Pretty chilly right? Then why in the fuck is my room mate still having her window open all day and night? She states it is the cat, and the fucking cat has no desire to go outside in this weather. The electricity bill has gone from 45 to 50 a month to 100 to 120 a month for a small two bedroom apartment. I stated before we moved that I would have a giant issue if she had her window open all winter long, and it seems like she broke her promise. Not only is that window open, but her bedroom door is open, which fucks with the thermostat and then because the heater now runs 24 hours a day non stop, my room gets broiling hot, well over 80 degrees at times. The more I think about this, the more I am disgusted.
There is some good news besides the complete hatred I have towards Danielle. The good news is that I should be getting the $500 I had to pay for a downpayment on a new car, and the $89 I paid in the payoff of the loan for the Malibu. Today was the final court date, so I'm pretty happy with the settlement. It should be a few weeks until I see the full 589 dollars, but in the meantime I will be getting a few hundred back in a state tax refund as well as my bonus from work. The total could be around 2000, which is going all into savings to pay for a new apartment this summer.
So financially I'm doing alright, but I still need to cut back on my spending. Just because I have money does not mean I need to be spending it.
I decided that I'm not ready to start with an Accounting degree yet either, which is nearly a 180 degree change in mind from a few months ago. I opted to go forth with general education for now, and focus or lean towards transferring eventually towards some sort of meterological or atmospheric phsyics type degree. I will keep my major as forensic accounting at Franklin for now, in case I change my mind back. I woke up a week ago and I really questioned myself on my decisions I have been making towards my career. Why the fuck would I want to do something I really don't want to do, especially when I am paying for it?
Even more good news? Yes of course. One reason so much money has been saved recently has been my lack of sulking in the corner of some random bar. Instead I have been doing that 19 year old in his bedroom ha ha ha. I wouldn't say saulking either, but perhaps something else, and we'll see how it goes. Generally, he's awesome, but I will not say anything further because i refuse to jinx situations on meeting people as I always do. I can say that I have been spending just as much money I would be drinking with as these little "dates" which aren't official, but are, I guess... we just haven't called them 'dates'. I guess they could be titled as such, but it's just refreshing that I don't have to worried about labels and expectations with Dan, and I can just be me.
...but it IS the third week. (please queue the dramatic drums and bells).
Finally, happy black history month, the month we remember all the people hung in trees on being martyrs for civil rights. If anyone said gay rights is not the same as civil rights is crazy, they are just jealous that our protesting has more fashion sense and our "history/celebration" month has more days. No kidding aside, it's February and the average high this time of year in Columbus is around 37F (it is statistically getting warmer on average per day now until mid July). The high temperature the last few days has been about an average of 12 degrees, or 25 degrees below normal. Sometimes records could be 30 degrees higher or lower than the average high in Columbus. This time of year you could expect (averages 37F and 21F) records to be as high as 67 and as low as -9F. Sometimes it could be lower, or sometimes higher, but generally for Columbus during this time of year it is always plus or minus 30 from the average for an average record. The end of February brings the average high to 45 degrees, which means it could get as high as 75! Hello spring!
So many numbers, but at least they all mean something.
