"What is it, Blaine-san?" Yellow asked, looking at the pods in wonder.
"It's a new gaming system, REM. Reality Emulating Mainframe," Blaine said, typing at a console. "Those pods are connected to the mainframe. Whoever is inside them will have their senses manipulated so they will feel like they're really in the game."
"Game? You mean...you mean these are virtual reality pods?!" Yellow asked, looking surprised.
"That's correct."
"Then...then the reason you're showing me...?" She started, hope evident in her tone.
"That's right. We need someone to beta test the actual system, push the programs for the games and make sure everything is running smoothly, but we don't want word to get out about it too soon. So I told the higher ups that I knew a girl who'd be good enough to push the systems, but wouldn't say a word," he said, looking at her with a slight grin.
She turned red at that. "I-it's not like I'm that amazing."
"Those awards would say otherwise. So, what do you say?"
Yellow paused for a moment, looking at the pods longingly. A whole new system...could she really push it as much as Blaine thought she could?
...oh, who was she kidding. Even if she couldn't, could she honestly pass up this chance?! "So what kind of games does it have?"
