Now that all of my classes have started, i think i've started to get the hang of this college thing.
All of my classes are great, and the proffessors are all...unique. I'm taking a class called "Freshman Studies," which is a class about college, i guess. The best part is, the proffessor's a cross between
Ralph Fiennes and
Philip Seymour Hoffman. Figure that one out. Even stranger, my Java (computer science) prof is a cross between
Ian Holm,
Holmes Osbourne, and Mr. Karewa. There should be a law against that. Also, my writing prof is a really butch lesbian (so i'm happy), and my psych of art prof is a complete stereotypical shrink-type-figure.
My film analysis class seems excitingly intense. The classes are once a week and 5 hours each, cause we have to watch a film and dissect it every class. We watched Rear Window by Hitchcock the first class. Since I had seen the movie before, I figured that I would be able to take a lot of good notes. So, during the course of the movie, I wrote two pages. When I showed the TA my notes during recitation, she said that she expected more next time! Next week is Chinatown, a movie i've also already seen, so i'm coming armed and ready to dissect.
From time to time, I've been gathering little bits of footage of college life. Hopefully, I'll be able to post a little video journal pretty soon.
