maybe one of these days i'll actually go into one of your stores lmao not XD
Hahaha, exactly!! I have no desire to ever shop at an A&F store or any of their ilk either, no matter how many overly sexualized ads they plaster up on their walls. I think the "one ball, two ball" slogan is so ridiculous. Apparently, A&F thinks you're a "man's man" who has courage ("balls") if you wrestle. OK. If we needed a surer sign that we live in a patriarchal society, the fact that something as fragile as balls stand for courage and guts while something as strong and frankly miraculous as a vagina gets associated with weakness/fear ("pussy"), right there it is.
good job Abercrombie! you're doing it right XD
Well, except for the part where they excluded everyone but non-white dudes and tried to deny the homoeroticism or gay imagery of their material. XD MadTV did an excellent job of airing that dirty laundry when they had the store react to black, asian, and female cast members attempting to be hired at the store. At least they eventually got sued over discriminatory hiring practices!
Completely agreed. It's a pretty depressing spiral when you start to think about all of society's ills. *head desk*
Oh! I figured you just meant they were getting the homoeroticism right and that's it, haha! Sarcasm works beautifully to get the point across, too, and yes, at least someone was able to actually bring a suit against them.
