If you have not already heard of it, it's a drama series on FX about a biker club located in a small town in California.
- It manages to be based on Hamlet without being heavy handed about it.
- For a drama that can bring tears to your eyes, it has had some laugh out loud moments.
- It uses the freedom FX offers (remember how far the Shield would go it terms of storyline/language/violence/sex) without coming across as gratitous. On any other show, burning a tattoo off of a person would not work, here it's a former member who never removed his insignia. The tattoo had to be removed and since the member had not done it, the club did.
- There are no 100% good guys on the show - there's different shades of gray, not black and white. For example, the town sheriff turns a blind eye to some of the actions of the club (gun running) because they've kept the town drug-free.
- It has showcased some amazing music. There's been covers of John the Revelator and Ruby Tuesday that blew me/Kurtis away.
- The acting on this show is FAR better than any network drama by a long shot. Ron Perlman is perfect as the club leader, Katey Sagal has made me cry and even the weakest links shine.
- Oh, and there's this guy:
Yeah, I have a girl crush. SUE ME. He's got long blond hair, blue eyes, a beard, owns leather clothing - I'd be mildly insulting Kurtis not to get a mild clit flutter for him.
