Welcome to 2004, my fellow hardtimers. Please take a moment to gaze lovingly at the most beautiful New Year’s Sight EVER.
I’m using this post to launch a New Monthly Feature at HT100. In order to entice more writers to play in this sandbox, we are going to start offering a FLASH FICTION Challenge on the first of each month.
For this feature, I’m gonna define Flash Fiction as any story between 150 and 1500 words. So these stories will be longer than our usual drabbles, and writers will have the entire month to write and post them.
Also, to make it even more fun, I’m going to ask each of you to pick a month to come up with the challenge. I’m taking January and I’ve asked actizera to issue the challenge for February. But the month of March and beyond are open. So pick a month please. You really, really don’t want me to have to nudge you. LOL
My goal is to give those writers who find the drabble form too constrictive to pick up the Flash idea and run with it. And if this idea takes off as I hope, then next year, we’ll set up an Oz Flash Fiction Community.
Ok, enough with the explanation, on with the Challenge.
HT100 Oz Flash Fiction Challenge #1--Forgiveness
The challenge is to write a story where forgiveness is the theme. It’s open to all Oz characters. It can be canon or AU. The challenge closes on January 31, 2004.
