DRESS SHOES
Toby hasn't worn dress shoes in so long he's forgotten how they feel. They aren't as comfortable as they used to be when he had to wear them every day in his work at the law firm. They are tight and restrictive, a perfect reflection that he no longer fits into his old life.
Today, they are a necessity. Just like the tie that feels like a noose around his neck. In some ways, he wishes it was a noose, that he could trade his life for his son's. But, there's Holly to consider and he needs to keep going for her. She might hate him after all of this, and who could blame her, but he'll be in her life as long as she'll allow it.
