HT100 Challenge #14 - Blast From the Past
Was having a really hard time with this one, until I watched 'Escape From Oz' the other night.
"Please don't hurt him! I promised him he wouldn't be hurt!"
Ray tried to follow them out the door, but was stopped by the last SORT member.
"Stay here, Padre. God can't help him now."
The priest dropped to his knees, beseeching the crucifix hanging on the wall. 'Please don't let them hurt him.'
It was futile prayer. He could hear Miguel's distant cries of fear and anguish turn to those of pain.
McManus found him there an hour later, still on his knees, still praying. Praying for Miguel Alvarez, for Officer Rivera, for the tortured souls of them all.
