Drabble for Challenge #124 Fish: Deja vu by Maverick
I figured I'd do my part to welcome ozsaur to hardtime100 by writing a drabble for her first challenge. Thanks to her for taking over the reins, thanks to rileyc for hoisting the banner for so long, and thanks to all the Oz fans out there who keep the show alive in their hearts.
Deja vu

Chris had figured he’d get sent to the big house long before he did. After six stints in juvie, he knew it was inevitable. So he wasn’t surprised when he got jumped his first day at Lardner.
He was surprised to find someone pulling the guy off him.
“Vern Schillinger,” his rescuer said. “You need to be more careful, son.”
“Why’d you do that?”
“Our kind needs to stick together, kid. We should be able to rely on each other. Trust each other.”
“I don’t trust nobody.”
Vern smiled. “Maybe you’ll make it out of here alive then.”
