"Another stupid fucking holiday," O'Reily said to Vern.
Toby stayed quiet in his chair behind his Nazi 'master.' He'd always liked Valentine's Day. Candy, hearts, chocolate: what was there to hate?
Vern laughed. "I bet Bitcher always bought his wife something fancy."
O'Reily shot him a look. "That true?"
"Diamonds are a girl's best friend." Toby hoped it wouldn't earn him a slap.
Vern grinned. "So, what'd you get me, prag? Better be something good."
Toby tucked his hands under his armpits. O'Reily was right - Valentine's Day sucked.
