HT100 Challenge #91: Hey, babe, what's your sign?

Feb 16, 2006 18:18

Celebrate your warm, expansive personality by getting yourself out there. Accept any and all invitations that come your way. Heck, extend a few invites of your own while you're at it. It's time to live it up!

Snuggling his hand inside Shemin's pants, he remembered what he read in his horoscope that morning, about accepting invitations, getting himself out there.

"What's your sign?"

Shemin looked at him, probably thinking he was crazy. Probably being right. A funny question to ask a guy while holding his dick.

"What?"

"Your sign. You know, horoscope", he was circling his thumb over the head now.

"Um… Uh, Gemini", Shemin gasped.

"I'm a Libra. We're compatible", he let out a hollow laugh at his own words.

Compatible. A great word.

To be able to exist together. With Gen. And Shemin.
Not with Keller. He was a Scorpio. It could never work. And you shouldn't want what's not right for you.

Compatible. What a load of crap.

It's time to live it up, that's what his horoscope said.

He got down on his knees and felt himself sinking further into numbness.

Patience is indeed a valuable virtue, but it's also important to make a stand when enough is enough. If others are delaying you in an unacceptable way, it's okay to throw resignation out the window.

He watched as they carried Shemin's body through the common area.
It was written in the stars. Enough was enough.

He looked down and saw Beecher watching him. He expected to see accusation in his eyes, or guilt, or regret.

Instead he was giving him that same look he had given him on their first night in separate pods.

Despair.
And longing.

Keller smirked.

That's right, baby. It's just you and me. Always you and me.

It's written in the stars, and don't you forget it.
