Title: Cornflowers
Author: Gigi Sinclair
Rating: G

She loved children. It was one of the tragedies of her life that she'd only had one, Kathy. Not the ultimate tragedy, though.

She planted the cornflowers for Kathy, her beautiful, innocent daughter who'd loved blue flowers, horses and innocuous boy bands. Kathy, who'd died riding her beloved bike.

She and her husband had forgiven Kathy's killer, at least outwardly. Their minister and their marriage counsellor recommended it. But when she read the newspaper article about the murdered son of "Oswald Penitentiary inmate Tobias Beecher" she thought: "Now he knows what it's like."

And she went to weed her garden.
