I know it seems like it would be easier to try and integrate MGS4 Big Boss into your playing (since he has more lines, longer speeches to give you a better idea of how to handle him and... Wasn't seemingly translated by a chicken with a typewriter) but the difference between the two is like night and day.

In MG2, Big Boss gives off this feeling like he's a very intense man. He's very passionate and driven by his goal, as misguided as it is. In MG and MG2, the thought that "Hey, maybe this isn't what The Boss wants" hasn't really entered his head. With imported squeaking sand and poisonous hamsters, Big Boss has really gone off the deep end, but obviously is charismatic enough to keep the loyalty of his men.

I'm not sure if this will be of any help or if you already have it, but I found this ( http://www.msxnet.org/gtinter/Operate.htm ). It's a transcription of the MG2 instruction manual for the MSX and it goes into a lot of detail about FOXHOUND and Zanzibar Land itself. It might give you a bit more insight to read through it, even if it is pretty dated/parts have probably been retconed to hell and back.

Yeah, it seemed like it would be easier. I think the reason I even bothered is that I usually play characters that have VAs or live action actors. It's easier to tell if I got the voice down. But that's why I wanted to play Big Boss from MG2... I wanted a challenge.

He is forever a work in progress. I really do appreciate any feed back I get... I only have a small handful of friends to bounce ideas off of.

I haven't told many people this that aren't part of the RP he's in but, predictably, he's attempting to recreate Outer Heaven. He wants to find a way to exit the city, but he doesn't want to leave. He wants to use the city as the perfect launch pad for an attack on the rest of the world.

Ah! Yes, I haven't seen that. That is a big help. Retconned and dated aside. I am tempted to throw the retconned stuff out the window and go with original canon. Buuuut... that would probably piss everyone off. MGS does not need more wank. Anyway! Oh god, that is helpful. I don't know how I missed it previously. I have several FAQs and game scripts saved already... I even have Slowbeef's guide saved. But I know about it now, that's the important thing.

Yay! An excuse to reply my games. I know I'm getting repetitive here but, thank you again.

I agree with reCaptcha, Snake would be awesome. He would so ruin his plans. It would be beautiful.
