First of all, thank you coming to leave crit here. I'm really shooting in the dark with Big Boss. I have a grand total of four friends who even played MGS and only two played MG2.
His voice is something I've been trying to work on. Which I think is the biggest problem. A major problem I'm having is trying to find a middle ground between his MG2 dialogue and how he is at the end of MGS4. The quietness is me being unsure, again something I'm trying to fix. The charisma issue should be easier to deal with. I knew something was wrong. I just didn't realize it was that. But looking back at a few of his interactions that seems to make sense. The epic opinions... I was obsessing about other parts of him I completely forgot about this. Oh god, thank you. I feel a little like an idiot but... damn, I have some amusing things to do with him now.
As for grand schemes. I have a couple in the works for him. They got delayed with the 'snowstorm' event and a snowstorm irl. I might get the ball rolling on that today after a little canon review.
Yes, he plans to build a Metal Gear. Several in fact. That shall be a beautiful day.
Now, to make sure I understood all you said. These are the main points I should work on:
-more vocal -Charisma -epic opinions and/or grand schemes
The problem with playing Big Boss as an old man is the HUUUUUGE discrepancy in his voice between MG2 and MGS4. Personally I would put more weight on how he speaks in MGS4 and then use MG2 to really fill it in if that makes any sense. You're in an odd position playing him with those two games in mind, but have more confidence and don't be afraid to play around a little. As I said, you're off to a good start so I think that once you just get comfortable playing him, you'll find your niche soon enough.
And nope, that's it from me! You just have to find out who he is within yourself. These things just take time and practice, but I think you'll hit it.
Best of luck and I look forward to seeing more of him! ♥
