We lost a good man today.. Chubby C. Cheeks, a long time resident of Disney's Animal Kingdom could often be found bounding happily along highway 498 and enjoyed spending his time skittering amongst the exotic trees found in the low and highlands of Asia. His favorite place in the world was Expedition Everest, but truly enjoyed the fine delicacies found in Discovery Island, particularly Oasis Bridge. At about 15:30 on this very day, Chubby had an unfortunate run in with a guest and her motorized vehicle. The freak accident was not by any means preventable, but in the end a life was lost and unfortunately it was Chubby's life that ended today.

The Cheeks family, consisting of only his beloved wife and dear little brother, have decided not to press charges against the woman, claiming that no one could have forseen such a thing happening. Already Chubby's remaining relatives are moving forward in life, electing to move from Dino-Rama to Dino Institute where there is lighter traffic and fewer disturbances.

The woman who had been driving the motorized vehicle expressed her great grief to such an unfortunate incident and offered to console the Cheeks family in anway she could. Chubby was lowered to his final resting place to his favorite music of Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Expedition, the four o'clock parade at Disney's Animal Kingdom. His ceremony was short, but friends from all over the world gathered to his final resting place to pay their respects.

The Yetti, a constant threat at Expedition Everest remembers fondly how welcomed he felt when first moving to Animal Kingdom because it had been Chubby who made the journey to pay him a welcoming visit. Even Mickey and Minnie said their final farewells as their furry friend departed from their world.

It was a sad day in Animal Kingdom today. No finer squirrel will ever replace Chubby in our hearts. (Ok so MOST of it isn't true, but I didn't want to just post a note saying a lady ran over a squirrel today while I was at work.. That would be a lame note, yes? I thought this would put a nice touch to it. R.I.P Chubby Cheeks.)
