"Aunt?" Melou says, shyly, coming up alongside her. "Hast not made bread in a long while."

"Hm?" She turns. "No, I suppose not. You're not hungry?"

"Nay, only thou dost often."

"I suppose I do. I'll be sure to bake for you soon." A little, closed up smile. "I've still to meet your lady, as well, some time."

"Ay, thou must! She is goodly," he agrees, perking up a little.

"And kind, I wager. I'd hardly expect otherwise."

"Ay! So she is."

[hardlyagravated]

"Well, then. Perhaps I'll make some bread, and then you and I can take her some. If you'd like."

Which wins her an actual smile from him, shining and fine. "Wouldst thou?"
