Laurel is setting on the threshold of the Orkney cottage, a basket of late tomatoes in her lap. Her head is in her hands, but she's not crying. She's just... sitting. She'd meant to take a quick breath before going back inside, but that quick breath has... rather stretched out. But she's in the way, so it won't last. Maybe that's purposeful.

The icon should read, OMG it's Agravaine's wife.

Guinevere was just taking a walk - she didn't quite notice that she was walking in the direction of the Orkney cottage - if she had, she might well have changed directions. Mordred still... well, yes. Mordred. He's a dire source of discomfort.

So she stops in front of the house, and suddenly realizes where she is. She wants to go, but the figure on the threshold is... very familiar. So she'll be at the entrance of the clearing.

Hesitating.

After a moment, she notices the figure and rises quickly, accidentally spilling some of the tomatoes. Still, she curtsies. "Forgive me, your majesty, I did not see you there."

That's a bit of a surprise, and she gasps, before she contains herself again.

"Nay, nay, t'is naught, lady. Pray not urge thineself..." she steps closer, and nods, regally enough. "The tomatoes..."

She nods, and crouches to gather them. "I had heard that you had come, my lady, but seeing you is a bit of a surprise even so."

She crouches as well, to help. "I... I suppose it is."

What do you say to that?

"Are you well?" She smiles a little, polite if not overly familiar.

"I am well enough, my thanks," she replies quietly, but not coldly, as she hands a few picked up tomatoes to Laurel. "And yourself?"

"Well enough, thank you. I would ask you to supper, but the house is not truly mine to invite you. I am here at my brothers' grace."

"Oh, oh, pray not burden yourself with such thoughts. I could hardly pray to dine at my nephew's table."

Dinner at Mordred's. Gah.

"T'is well. I knew not you were here. And your Lord?"

Since Gwen doesn't quite remember the fall of Camelot, she's not as iffy about Agravaine, even if he was never someone whose company she sought.

Even though Laurel's from father on than Gwen, she doesn't remember either, so the awkwardness is only in that the queen is too young, and that the women were never that close.

Well, and in the question.

She says, quiet but steadily, "I believe he is still here, your majesty. He stays up in the large house, when he is not hunting."

"Oh?" She looks at Laurel, confused. "Did you not say you were my nephew's guest?"

And also, why have I not come across him then?

"Mordred and Gawain were kind enough to offer a place to stay with them, but my lord husband has matters of his own to attend to. He is much on his own, I understand." Laurel's tone is still friendly and respectful, but her expression has gone a bit more distant.
